Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is in full swing, and this time, it’s all about that cyberpunk theme.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 boasted a new psychedelic trailer during its release, along with a range of new locations, cosmetics, and items. Subtitled “Mega,” the latest season promises new goodies in the Fortnite Item Shop and more. There’s Mega City, a map with a never-before-seen biome full of unique locations, including Kenjutsu Crossing, Steamy Springs, and Knotty Nets. The season also comes with two new weapons and vehicles explicitly designed for the winding streets of Mega City. And that’s not all—the cyberpunk-inspired cityscape isn’t the only thing you can look forward to in Chapter 4 Season 2. If you’re eager to know all the details about the Mega season, you’ve come to the right place.
Where Are the New Locations?
As we’ve stated before, Mega City is home to four hotspots within the map: Knotty Nets, Kenjutsu Crossing, and Steamy Springs. Of course, Mega City is the most important of the locations mentioned. Out of all the places mentioned, it seems like a futuristic take on the much-loved Tilted Towers. The area has rain-slicked alleyways, neon signs, and a chockful of holograms.
Meanwhile, the other three areas within Mega City exude different vibes. Kenjutsu Crossing is where the frantic battle happened (according to Fortnite’s ever-growing lore), Knotty Jets is—as expected—a place where water is abundant, and Steamy Springs is covered with cherry blossoms, making it a place of tranquility.
Mega City can be found just beside Frenzy Fields, with the other locations located below it. If players with Fortnite accounts drop there via the Battle Bus, they can expect Mega City to be filled with other gamers. We won’t be surprised if it garners the same reputation as Tilted Towers, where the player count within the area can drop like flies thanks to it being a favorite place of many.
New Vehicles
The Victory Crown Rogue
The Victory Crown Rogue—also known as the Rogue Bike—fits perfectly with this season’s theme. Not only is it fast, but it can also drift. You can use the Rogue Bikes to do cool tricks or chase down an enemy trying to escape. But if you’re in a hurry, it’s the ideal set of wheels to use when running away from the storm.
Players familiar with the Quadcrasher will be saddened to hear that Epic Games removed it from the game a while back, but on the flip side, we did get the Rogue Bike. It’s essentially a better version of our dirt bikes, and includes additional commands where you can slide and use a boost—essentially letting you drift.
You can find the Victory Crown Rogue in Drift Ridge, Mega City, and Neon Bay Bridge. If you’re in Drift Ridge, take the northern exit road out of Mega City, where you’ll be met with a racing track. Rogue Bikes often spawn in that area. But say you want to get the bike in Mega City. In that case, you’ll have to go to its southeast corner. There’s a gas station from there, and behind it, you’ll find a dealership that sells the Rogue Bikes. As for Neon Bay Bridge, you can typically find bikes parked on the side of the road near the bridge connected to the southeastern and southwestern entrances of Mega City. If they don’t spawn there, keep going east until you reach Fallo Fuel, a gas station with a chance to spawn the bikes.
Nitro Drifter
The Nitro Drifter is another vehicle designed for Mega City’s winding streets. This four-seater sports car lets you drift and grind on rails, making it feel like you’re playing Sunset Overdrive. Almost every vehicle that’s been added to Fortnite is more than capable of drifting, but we’d argue that no one does it better than the Nitro Drifter.
Nitro Drifters can be found scattered all over the map, but there are a few areas where they’re guaranteed to have them. You can find the vehicle in Kenjutsu Crossing, Steam Springs, Slappy Shores, and Mega City.
If you want a surefire way to get yourself a Nitro Drift, we’d suggest heading to Mega City, as it has six possible spawn locations for the vehicle. Most gas stations there are worth a peek if you’re after the car. But say you’re luck is down Mega City. Should that be the case, you can go to the other areas surrounding Mega City. Since the roads are connected to Slappy Shores, Steam Springs, and Kenjutsu Crossing, you shouldn’t have difficulty locating the Nitro Drift in one of these places.
The Havoc Weapons
Fortnite always manages to add a couple of new weapons here and there, so it’s no surprise that Chapter 4 Season 2 would also get its fair share of more things to make other things go boom.
Havoc Pump Shotgun
The newly-added Havoc Pump Shotgun can make it possible for you to kill enemies with just a single shot. You heard that right—with just one shot, you can down an opponent with full health plus shields. As a result, the pump shotgun caught many people’s attention. At close range, should you get a Mythic-tier Havoc Pump Shotgun, it’s possible to kill other players with just a single hit. It can dish out 250 damage at maximum, double your base health. Even if you have a full shield bar pumping up your HP to 200, the Havoc Pump Shotgun can more than wipe it out.
Perhaps the only caveat with this weapon is that you’ll need to get very close to have the chance at an instant kill. Still, despite being limited by its range, the Havoc Pump Shotgun is the strongest weapon in Fortnite to date.
Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle
As the name suggests, the Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle has high accuracy and suppressed sound, giving you an edge on the battlefield when sneaking up on enemies for a kill. The biggest strength it has is that you won’t draw attention. If you’re a fan of stealth, this weapon is an excellent choice to get those silent kills.
The Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle’s rarity ranged from Common to Mythic, with Mythic having the best stats. You can find it in several places, but looting chests is one of the easiest ways to find the weapon. But if you want to get the good stuff—aka the Ultra Rare or Mythic version—you must defeat a Highcard boss to obtain it as a drop. Highcard is the latest boss to come to Fortnite. He spawns at different locations after the first storm has ended, but you can quickly identify him if he has two minions by his side.
Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade is arguably the most exciting addition to the plethora of weapons in Fortnite. This melee weapon is based on a katana, but it functions similarly to the Shockwave Hammer from last season.
The blade has two attacks you can do. There’s the Knockback Slash, which you can use to inflict damage on opponents by spinning through the air. It consists of two blows—each dealing 35 damage. We recommend using it to knock someone off a ledge or confuse enemies. The other attack is called the Dash Attack. This allows you to charge up a dash, propelling you forward to deal 60 damage on an enemy. You can use the Dash Attack to move about quickly or perform it several times while on air to push an enemy. Although it has a 10-second cooldown, it can hold three charges.
As for where you can find a Kinetic Blade, it has to be in Kenjutsu Crossing. This new POI has nine Kinetic Blades, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one there. Alternatively, you can buy the weapon from Mizuki, an NPC located inside the eastern watchtower just right of The Citadel.
New Season, New Battle Pass
As always, a new Fortnite season brings a new Battle Pass for Fortnite account holders. Chapter 4 Season 2 introduces the “fine-tailored Renzo the Destroyer” outfits for those who choose to purchase them. Other characters you can unlock include Thunder, Highwire, and Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan. The addition of Attack on Titan’s protagonist might seem strange to some players, but given that Mega City is all about 3D traversal and grinding rails, Eren doesn’t seem as out of place on second thought.
